For What It Is Worth (Apr 23, 2013)

Categories: All Posts, For What Its Worth, General, The Gleaning Corner

There is an interesting story today concerning the US Army ordering soldiers to turn in their scopes so that Scriptural references etched into the serial numbers could be scraped off. The references in question are John 8:12 and 2 Corinthians 4:6. Here are the "offensive" verses.

For What It’s Worth (Apr. 21, 2013)

Categories: All Posts, For What Its Worth, General, The Gleaning Corner

Shalom everyone; Here's a thought from the "What Its Worth" Dept. As you know, last Monday, April 15, three people were killed and dozens more severely wounded by two homemade bombs allegedly set by two Chechen, supposedly Muslim, brothers. For a few days, the city of Boston was essentially shut down as authorities looked for these terrorists. There are a lot of questions to be answered about this event including was this an organized strike or just a couple of kids taking matters into their own hands. Truth be told, we may never know the real story. This post is not intended to prompt all the different conspiracy theories that already surround this case. What I do wish to comment on is the timing, specifically April 15 - to do that, let me go back a few years.

Where is Your Focus?

Where is Your Focus?

Shalom to all. In my last communication, as you may recall, my topic addressed being a servant as opposed to being a survivor. I asked the question, “Which are you?” As I tried to make clear, I was and continue to be concerned about the way some are choosing to respond to all the troubling news facing us in these last days. It seemed to me that, for awhile, there were almost daily prognostications about the future that, intentionally or unintentionally, provoked some hasty conclusions about if we need to flee, where we need run or move to, etc. All this chatter and some of the reactions to it, in my opinion, had the potential to tamper with our focus and undermine our mission as a light to the nations. For instance, I received a letter asking me where I was going to flee to on March 23rd. When I inquired as to why I should be prepared to flee on that day, the answer was, “Because that is when the abomination of desolation is to occur!” As it turned out, that didn’t happen. This kind of reaction to what was merely a possibility (and there were many more like it) troubled me and this is why I wrote the article.

The Story Behind the Harbinger: Interview with Jonathan Cahn

Categories: All Posts, Audio Teachings, General, The Gleaning Corner, Video Teachings

Shalom! This is the interview I had with Rabbi Jonathan Cahn back in early March. In this one hour interview we discussed how the book, The Harbinger, came to be. More than that, however, we discussed things that have transpired since the book and since his address at the Inaugural Prayer Breakfast. Approximately 55 minutes.

For What Its Worth (April 1, 2013)

Categories: All Posts, For What Its Worth, General, The Gleaning Corner

Shalom;

As many of you know, the Supreme Court has taken up the argument as to whether or not, homosexual/lesbian marriages are legal and whether these unions have a constitutionally guaranteed right to be recognized by federal and, presumably, state laws as being equivalent to marriages between a man and a woman. The ramifications of the decision they will make are huge as it relates to what happens next in our country. Whether or not the can gets kicked down the street for another day, it would seem the country's trend is to "coexist" with this mindset.
