"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." ‑ Proverbs 16:18
Since I first heard the story of the R.M.S. Titanic, I have been fascinated with the tale of the “unsinkable ship” that sunk. I have read countless books and watched almost every television program devoted to the fabled vessel. My interest took a significant if somewhat different turn when, in spring 1994, I re-read Walter Lord’s classic account of the ill-fated voyage, A Night To Remember. Though I had read the book several times, it was during this reading that I began to notice some interesting details I had never paid much attention to – details that seemed to have a prophetic twist to them. I jotted these points down thinking they might come in handy one day, perhaps for an article.
This is a teaching I did not too long ago about the Biblical history of the land of Israel. Specifically this gets into my belief that Eden was located in the area that we now refer to as eretz Yisrael (land of Israel). Consequently, Jerusalem and the Temple Mount would correspond to the Garden of Eden and the midst of the garden. The prophetic implications of this are astounding. Hope you enjoy! Last month was very busy for us but also very exciting. On December 28, Beth, Alan, Allison and I left for Stockholm, Sweden on our first ever European speaking engagement. We were warmly greeted (quite ironic considering the snow was up to your eyeballs and the temperature was close to Zero) by our hosts, the Forslunds and Enbloms. The conference was, in my opinion, a great success. It was amazing to see how many people showed up in the midst of a weather system that was constantly dumping snow. Some people traveled as long as 7-8 hours on a train from the northern part of Sweden, Norway and even St. Petersburg, Russia! It was both exciting and humbling. All the meetings were filmed and plans are underway to air these sessions on Sweden’s only Christian television network, perhaps as early as March. Also, there have been thoughts of trying to air them on the largest European Christian network – Gospel Television Europe – which would reach into the entire European continent. Pray that the Father’s will in this matter be accomplished.
This is a recent message recorded at New Life Christian Center in San Antonio, TX. As you will hear, this group is rather lively and so it was easy for me to get somewhat lively myself. In this message I share some of the distinctions between Esau and Jacob as well as the principle of learning to walk as Israel so that we may overcome the Adversary. In the process, we oftentimes discover that to bruise his head means that our heel must also be bruised. Finally, I concluded with a personal testimony of some events in my life that have left me with this impression: the level of commitment that was sufficient for yesterday's test will not be sufficient for the test that lies ahead. I hope you enjoy the message. (Approximately 75 minutes)
This audio series was recorded during our November 2010 Yeshivat sessions. In these recordings we read and discuss the Torah portion Toledot (Gen. 25:19 - 28:9) which describes the unique birth and prophetic characteristics of Esau and Jacob. As the teaching develops, we see the seeds of enmity grow between the two and understand why they would never be able to co-exist. Furthermore, in the evening session, we see that what began long ago in Genesis has carried over into our day as described in Psalm 83. Complete descriptions and downloadable files of these teachings are found below and in our Digital Store. Be watching for more of our Yeshivat sessions to be posted in the future. Enjoy! (Approximately 3 hours)
This audio teaching is based on John 11 and Ephesians 2 and expounds upon the fact that the Messiah Y'shua died that two peoples might be one. I believe that it is one of the best messages I've done in a long time and I hope you enjoy it. You can see a more detailed description below and you can also download it from our store. Enjoy!
