What a beautiful and magnificent display and discernment of HEBREW; a Divine Language through which He reveals Truth, forwards, backwards, in the depths and heights…

And in the Heart of Every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God; there is BINAH / UNDERSTANDING

Bill, love this teaching. Listening to Ps 124 in Ivrit made me catch another passage on Elul / Lulei:
    לולי יהוה שׁהיה לנו יאמר־נא ישׂראל
“if it had not been YHWH who was on our side…” I know the spelling is here grammatically divergent, but same basic term of lulei and you’d say it about the same. Here’s my thought to augment the points you made on this inversion of Elul: YHWH is the great difference maker, via His oath of promise, that overcomes our failures and nothingness as a people (elul). The ending of the Psalm echoes chiastically with the intro: our help is in the name of YHWH who made hashamayim v’haaretz. This is Bereshit’s tohu v’bohu chaos that becomes ordered and enlivened by YHWH’s Ruach moving, and His Word calling. So also our Elul (nothingness/Tohu v’bohu) is transformed into “ani l’dodi v’dodi li” Elul by His Ruach moving and Word calling! Your teaching opened this all up for me, and I have to thank you. Blessings and I’ll be recommending your blog to friends. Shalom,

    Jason McDaniel
