    Shalom…

    I have just truly understood how “confusing” hebrew can become; one word can take so many dimensional meanings, It makes me wrinkle my brain…

    So if I can put this into a picturesque perspective;

    God forgets our sins that we may be forgiven and sets us up to be tested so that we can be married ?

    Does anybody refute that God has a sense of humor ?

    Actually, in the parable you used, the man who was forgiven the debt was very quickly “tested”…

    I wonder if this testing isn’t a hidden auto-statute that is being shown us which takes place in a believer after the act of Mercy has been given…

    Here goes another wrinkle…

    Shalom, shalom…

    I am a new reader and I just finished this word study. Wow, it is amazing how knowing the meaning of a Hebrew word can make the Scripture come alive and give new understanding. I am excited to learn more. Thank you for the work you do here 🙂

    Hi Bill, would NES or NASA be the same word for Yeshua being lifted up on a “tree” or the cross? That is the ultimate forgiveness there. I tried looking it up, however, it’s in John 3:14 and that is from the Greek, on Blue Letter Bible anyway. Am I off base here? Thanks and shalom!

    • Bill says:

      Probably not used for the word “to lift” although I believe the cross is the “nes”(ensign) Isaiah refers to in chapter 11. In Gen 22 (Isaacs being offered) the root word is ala (from which we get Aliyah. Hope that helps.
