One Response to On This Day – 19 Shevat

  1. JAIME says:

Good point…. I believe the Lord said it best when he stated “Is it good/right to do good on the Sabbath ?
    Awesome rhetorical question ….

To understand how the priests can be blameless for “working” on the Sabbath is embodied in that statement he made…
In the same manner, if your neighbor who does not keep the Sabbath finds himself in a precarious position while laboring on the Sabbath and you see he is in “urgent need” of help; you must help.

That does not mean one can labor on the Sabbath, but it does mean that by Torah one is to help to the point where he is out of danger and great need… Why ? Because that is the “Heart” of Torah and the Lord…

Because you showed “Mercy” not just to your neighbor but to the Lord Himself…
Remember, if you do it unto another, or don’t do; you do it unto Him….

It is also quite an “awakening” to understand that the priests are “specifically” created to labor on the Sabbath and the Lord does not classify it as labor, but as doing “good”
Why? Because the priest isn’t ministering unto himself, but unto others…

The misunderstanding comes in defining what “labor” is… (scripturally)

Our purpose is to not just labor in good deeds for 6 days, The righteousness one displays “specifically” on the Sabbath glorifies God greater than the 6, why?
Because it is sanctified by the most PRECIOUS, SWEETEST offering one can offer to the Lord on HIS HOLY DAY; “MERCY”

    Shalom, shalom
